We had to make it fun, which means limited sightseeing and galleries. Although one of mine requested visiting the Natural History Museum which we did on arrival. It never disappoints! But ultimately a trip to London with teens involves a variety of food outlets and plenty of shopping!
We actually chose to stay in the city, Tower Hill @ Citizen M. A really affordable yet fun hotel with a bar on the 7th floor which offers fantastic views across the Themes. Great for a pre-dinner cocktail.
We chose this side of London for a change as we often do the usual Westend shops but this time we mooched around Spittlefields, Brick Lane and Hoxton. More about this later. First let’s focus on food.
Eating Out
DF Tacos;Lively, fun and affordable. Duck & Waffle; A must for a 360 view of London. The Ned; One for me more than the kids. We had a drink in Millies Lounge. Next time I’m going back sans kids for a slap up meal. Didn’t want to waste the cash on them!
Shopping
Spittlefields Old Market: for browsing old vinyl, jewellery and loads more. Loads of eating places too.
Brick Lane; for vintage clothing. We loved Rokit for vintage Levis and jackets.
There were a couple of fun exhibitions on. If any of your kids are into Lego, Art of Bricks is worth a visit.
Columbia Road Market on a Sunday has a great vibe. Although kids didn’t want to stay too long so we headed to Regents street for a bit off big brand shopping!
